Here's a list of some climate/environment organizations within Montgomery County

Eco MoCo is a student-led organization founded in 2022 that focuses on environmental advocacy and leadership development. The organization has six departments that work on different environmental projects, including events, policy papers, and more.

Based in Montgomery County but advocating all across Maryland, Compostology is a youth-led organization committed to diverting schools' food waste from incinerators to compost facilities.

The Sierra Club Montgomery County is part of the Maryland Chapter and operates within Montgomery County, MD. The MoCo group focuses on improving public transit, maintaining clean water, supporting the county's Climate Protection Plan, and endorsing green candidates.

The Potomac Conservancy is Montgomery County's leading advocate for clean water. Its mission is to ensure the Potomac River boasts clean drinking water, healthy lands, and vibrant communities.

EcoExchange is a student-led organization in Montgomery County, Maryland, whose mission is to prevent and reduce the discard of usable items while spreading the environmentally sustainable practice of recirculating items.

350MoCo is a local chapter of 350.org whose mission is to develop a grassroots movement to build a sustainable community in Montgomery County, Maryland that centers around a zero-carbon economy and a society that considers climate action in all its decisions.

Takoma Park Mobilization is an organization that focuses on mobilizing the passions of Montgomery County residents, such as climate, to sustain and support local action for a more just and equitable society.

The Sunrise Movement is a national organization that advocates political action on climate change. However, contributing to this organization are local hubs all across Montgomery Country, in Kensington, Rockville, and Silver Spring.
